Warning Description: Areal Flood Advisory

Warning Date: 2:58 PM MST on July 3, 2009

WarningSum:...The Small Stream Flood Advisory Remains In Effect Until 415 Pm Mst
For Central Yavapai County...

Warning Message:At 252 PM MST...Weather Service radar is continuing to indicate 
heavy rain across portions of central Yavapai County. Rainfall 
totals of 2 to 4 inches have likely occurred in the strongest 
storms. This advisory includes the potential for small stream 
flooding near Kirkland...Skull Valley...and the following streams 
and drainages...Skull Valley wash...tonto wash...Kirkland 
creek...Turkey Creek...and Yarnell creek. Granite creek near 
Prescott will also see a continued rise...but is anticipated to 
remain safely below bankfull levels.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely. Move to higher ground.
To report flooding...have the nearest law enforcement agency relay
your report to the National Weather Service forecast office.
