Our home is an earth-sheltered dome house, built in about 1985. Located at the top of a mountain overlooking Prescott, it offers panoramic views of Prescott and the surrounding area. Careful placement of windows and use of a glass-enclosed cupola on the top of the house fills the house with sunlight. Using the earth to shelter the home tempers the extremes of both winter and summer weather, creating an environment that is warmer in winter and cooler in summer.
Common areas of the house, which are available for guests to use, include the living room, with a comfortable reclining sectional sofa, and family room, with an entertainment center and wood-burning pellet stove. Outside the house, there are patios and a balcony off the kitchen, all of which overlook Prescott. Our home is adjacent to wild state land with numerous hiking trails that you are welcome to explore.
Harold is an orthotist--a person who makes braces (not for teeth!) to support limbs, such as arms and legs, for folks with a disability or injury. Harold operates his own practice in Prescott, called Roadrunner Orthotics. Sue is a retired attorney, who hopes to stay retired from the practice of law. She currently owns and operates a water utility for the community of Mountainaire, 10 miles south of Flagstaff. |

As you enter, you are greeted with a spiral stairway to the cupola from which light pours into the home. Then it's down another stairway to the guest room. Guests have the option of an outside, lighted flagstone stairway to the guest room. |

| Before moving to Prescott, Sue and Harold owned the Llaughing Llama Farm, a farm Bed & Breakfast located in Southwest Wisconsin. We are experienced innkeepers who enjoy meeting new people. We provide attention to detail and personal service in a unique setting. In January 2006, we changed our format to offering a retreat for longer term stays. We want you to enjoy Prescott as much as we do! Breakfast will be included only with prior arrangement at an additional charge of $10 per person.
