Parenting-grandparents
channel began in talkcity in Nov 1996. The first night, there were
13 chatters, but that didn't last long. Before very long, we had a full
and busy channel where you
could
find someone to talk with at any given hour of the day or night.
As the years passed,
the
channel steadily grew until at one point in time, we had over 200 regular
members of our
cyber
family.
During
this time, some of us moved on to different places on the world wide
web, some of us passed on to better places, and some of us stayed behind
to keep the lights on.
When
talkcity closed the doors, we packed up our family, and moved to the dream-chat
server...and when the dream-chat server closed the doors, we packed
up again and moved to the coolchat server, where we
had
hoped to settle and rebuild the channel and family. Unfortunately
coolchat is too
unstable
for our webbies family, so now
we've
moved yet again to the StarChat
network.
We
hope you decide to join us and become part of this wonderful group of people
we call our family
in
#parenting-grandparents.

You may not be in any #sex, #violence, or #gang-related titled channel,
and #parenting-grandparents at the same time. If you are, we will
ask you once to leave the offending channels.... refusal to do that will
result in your being kicked or banned from #parenting-grandparents.

You need not be either a parent or grandparent to join our channel,
we welcome good people of all ages. However, most of our regulars
are, and will be treated with the respect due them.
3.
Please, do NOT private message any one in the channel without asking first.
4.
We are not a flirt channel, so please do not enter our channel with
the a/s/l being your first
question.
Most of us find it extremely rude and you may find yourself extremely embarrassed.
5.
NO lurking will be allowed. If you need to be idle for longer than
30 minutes, please drop
out
of the channel and come back when you have time to chat.
6.
Please limit the channels you are chatting in to 2 if you are
chatting in parenting-
grandparents.
We would rather have most of your attention and multitasking in so many
rooms
tends to cause lurking in one or more channels.
7.
We are proud that our channel has members from several different Countries
around the
world.
We fully respect that each Country has it's own politics, cultures,
religious beliefs, and
overall
views....with that thought in mind, we'd like to ask that any political
or religious
discussion
be held in private, not in the open channel. |
