Shirley aka Chicadee

Hello everyone. I am a married woman that has been married to the same man for 35 years now. And as I see it, will have him till deathdo us part. I also have one lovely daughter, that is 37 years old and married for 17 years. She gave me my two precious granddaughters. They are living in Colorado.

My husband and I were born in Illinois, and later after we were married, we moved to Michigan, where we resided for 29 years. I was a cosmetologist there for 26 years and owned my own salon for 25 years there.

I got my computer, Penelope, 3 years ago. And that really changed my life. I later found the Parenting-grandparents room about 2 years ago in Oct. A dear friend of mine, Junie, and I ran into each other in another chat room and wandered into this one, where we both stayed and have made our home here with these wonderful people. It is the best room!! So many nice, friendly and helpful people from all over the world and all walks of life.

I have been fortunate enough to have been able to go to two of the meetings in Knoxville. It was so much fun meeting the different chatters from in here. Also, I've attended many smaller meets in Florida, where I have met other chatters.

I use to show dogs for a hobby, then got into line dancing. I've been line dancing for 15 years now. Also, my big love is my horses. We have had horses for 34 years now. I am a lifetime member of a horse club in Mich., and also a member of a saddle club here in Florida. My husband and I moved to Florida one and a half years ago after retiring from our jobs in Mich. We moved here so we would be able to ride our horses everyday. We strictly trail ride them for pleasure. That is why we ended up moving into the woods with horse trails extending for miles. Also, another hobby of mine is the Red Hat Society. I enjoy the girls very much.

I hope to be able to stay in the room for a very long time and gather up all kinds of wonderful people as lifetime friends. Hope to see you all in the room.
