We believe this Atkins family descends from one William Atkins (I). William had a son, Josiah (I) who was born ca 1618-1619. He married Elizabeth Whitmore (I). Their son, Ephraim (I) was born March 9, 1685 and married his cousin, Elizabeth Whitmore (III). Ephraim's son, James Atkins (I) was born April 9, 1724, at Middletown, Middlesex County, Connecticut. He married Rebecca Stowe October 27, 1747. He died ca 1776. Their son, Isaac Atkins, was born October 22, 1759 at Middletown. He married a lady named Abigail in 1777. We have no other information on her. We have never found a record of their death dates nor places of burial. Their son, Jacob B. is the ancestor we are tracing. Jacob B. Atkins was born September 27, 1796 at Grand Isle, Grand Isle County, Vermont. He married Eunice ______ who was born ca 1807 in New York State. He died in 1853 at South Hero, Vermont. Nothing more is known of Eunice. Warren Corbin Atkins, son of Jacob, was born April 15, 1834, Grand Isle, Grand Isle County, Vermont. He married Rebecca Caroline Sharpe February 17, 1875. He died February 28, 1922 at Lowry City, St. Clair County, Missouri. Warren's son, Colin Campbell Atkins, was born May 17, 1876 Edina, Knox County, Missouri. He married Ella Williams March 1, 1904 at Lexington, Lafayette County, Missouri. They were divorced ca 1937-1938. He died May 14, 1939 at Lowry City, St. Clair County, Missouri and is buried in the Lowry City Cemetery. Susie Helen Atkins, the daughter of Colin Campbell Atkins, was born June 12, 1907 at Sayre, Beckham County, Oklahoma. She married (1) Thomas Glen White June 19, 1926 at Osceola, St. Clair County, Missouri. She married (2) William Leonard Cornelius (II) November 28, 1945, at Phoenix, Maricopa County, Arizona. Susie died August 11, 1997 in Prescott Valley, Yavapai County, Arizona and was buried August 15, 1997 in Greenwood Cemetery, Phoenix, Maricopa County, Arizona.
