Lewis Henry Brandenburg was born July 15, 1852, in Callaway County, Missouri, the son of Joseph Albert Brandenburg (I) and Amanda Jane Hill. Lewis married Emnor Jane Munford February 26, 1879, at the home of the Bride's father in Callaway County, MO. She was born January 12, 1854, in Missouri, the daughter of Robert F. Munford and Sarah Anna Brown. Lewis died March 11, 1923, at Myrtle Point, Coos County, Oregon, and was buried in the Norway Cemetery at Myrtle Point. Emnor Jane died July 10, 1923, at Arlee, Lake County, Montana, and was buried in Norway Cemetery at Myrtle Point, Oregon. They had six children:
1. Alice Vallie Brandenburg was born January 27, 1880, in St. Joseph, Buchanan County, Missouri. She died July 12, 1892, probably in Montana.
2. Bertha May Brandenburg was born September 17, 1881, in St. Joseph, Buchanan County, Missouri. She died October 22, 1892, probably in Montana.
Note: One of the girls died of appendicitis and the other of diabetes, but I don't know which was which.
3. Annie Jarusy Brandenburg was born July 19, 1883, in St. Joseph, Buchanan County, Missouri. She married John O. Cherry September 18, 1904, at Big Timber, Sweet Grass County, Montana. She died December 19, 1969, at Missoula, Missoula County, Montana, and was buried in the Missoula Cemetery.
4. Stella Lee Brandenburg was born October 21, 1885, at Shamrock, Callaway County, Missouri. She married James Herbert Stickley May 19, 1907, at Big Timber, Sweet Grass County, Montana. She died November 26, 1965, at Spokane, Spokane County, Washington, and was buried in The Pines Cemetery, Opportunity, Spokane County, Washington.
5. Jessie Mertle Brandenburg was born November 20, 1887, at Bozeman, Gallatin County, Montana. She married August Emil Fischer June 15, 1916, at Missoula, Missoula County, Montana. She died February 17, 1966, at Missoula, and was buried in the Missoula Cemetery. (Jessie is my grandmother.)
6. Nannie Emnor Brandenburg was born November 15, 1889, at Bozeman, Gallatin County, Montana. She married Giles M. Burch November 8, 1920, at Missoula, Missoula County, Montana. She died October 31, 1952, at Hamilton, Ravalli County, Montana, and was buried in Corvallis Cemetery, Ravalli County.
Joseph Albert Brandenburg (I) was born January 11, 1822, in Lee County, Kentucky, the son of Jonathan Brandenburg (II) and Mary Smith. He married Amanda Jane Hill September 24, 1846, in Callaway County, Missouri. Amanda was born July 18, 1828 in Virginia, the daughter of Benjamin J. Hill and
Judith Boatwright. Joseph died July 11, 1861, in Callaway County, and was buried in Chapman Cemetery between Shamrock and Benton City, Callaway County, Missouri. Amanda died May 29, 1869, in Callaway County, and was also buried in Chapman Cemetery.
