How would you feel if your teenage son or daughter disregarded your advice, went to a wild party, got stone drunk, tried to drive home, crashed into an oncoming car, and killed a young mother?
Probably grieved.
That's how God feels when we disregard the "advice" He's given us.
Most people think the Bible is just a list of "do's" and "don'ts". It's not. Yes, God has laws, very strict laws in fact. But, it's important to look at His motive for making them. His laws are designed to protect us (and others around us) from danger. By disobeying them we are telling God, in essence, "I'm smarter than you are."
And that is offensive.
